Biography
Gaulois, whose real name is Yassine M'Barek, is a French rapper born on 21 October 1994 in Nanterre, Hauts-de-Seine. Of Ivorian origin, he grew up in the Pablo Picasso housing estate and developed a passion for music from an early age.
Inspired by artists such as Booba, Ninho and Damso, Gaulois has developed a unique musical style, blending rap, trap and Afro. He stands out for his melodious flows, introspective lyrics and instantly recognisable voice.
Before going solo, Gaulois was part of the group Bongeo from 2014 to 2018. He then made a name for himself thanks to tracks such as ‘Priez pour nous’ with Yaro and ‘Jolie’ with Ninho.
In 2021, Gaulois signed to the Rec. 118 label, founded by Ninho. His debut album, ‘Le G-Lovers’, was released in February 2022 to great acclaim. The project was supported by singles such as ‘Sens interdit’ with Ninho and ‘Ma philosophie’.
With his catchy flow, heartfelt lyrics and addictive melodies, Gaulois has established himself as one of the most promising rappers of his generation. His music, imbued with positivity and hope, appeals to a wide audience.
