Wejdene Chaïb, known by her stage name Wejdene, is a French singer born on 23 April 2004 in Saint-Denis, Seine-Saint-Denis. Of Tunisian origin, she grew up in the Paris suburbs and developed a passion for music from an early age.
In 2020, when she was just 16, she made a name for herself on social networks, particularly on TikTok, with her song ‘Anissa’. The song became a veritable phenomenon, racking up millions of views and propelling Wejdene to the forefront of the French music scene.
In September 2020, Wejdene released her debut album ‘16’, which was a huge success. The album went platinum in France and became one of the biggest hits of the year. Wejdene went on to score a string of hits, including ‘J'veux dead’, ‘Coco’ and ‘Fais ta dance’, and became a veritable icon for her generation.
Wejdene has won numerous awards for her talent and success, including the NRJ Music Award for Female Revelation of the Year in 2020 and the MTV Europe Music Award for Best French Artist in 2021.
