Kaaris, whose real name is Olivier Okumakon, is a French rapper born on January 21, 1986, in Sevran (95). He began rapping at a young age, influenced by artists such as Booba and Rohff. After several years of honing his craft, he gained public recognition in 2012 with his debut single "Des salopes."
His musical style, characterized by incisive flows, impactful lyrics, and dark, powerful productions, quickly set him apart in the French rap scene. His debut album, "Zoo," released in 2013, was a huge commercial success, catapulting Kaaris to the ranks of the most popular rappers in the country.
Over the years, Kaaris has released a string of successful albums, including ‘Or Noir’ (2014), ‘Double F**’ (2015), ‘Ghetto’ (2016), ‘OKOU’ (2017) and ‘Kaaris Vert’ (2018), confirming his status as one of the heavyweights of French rap. His collaborations with renowned artists such as Booba, Damso and Kalifaa have also helped to cement his reputation.
In 2021, after a two-year break, Kaaris is back in the spotlight with his album ‘Oxmo Puccino’. This album marks a return to his roots for the rapper, with a more introspective style and more personal lyrics.
