Biography

Jeremy Bana-Owona, known as Werenoi, is a French rapper born on 30 January 1994 in Melun and originally from Montreuil in Seine-Saint-Denis.

Werenoi began rapping in his teens. He made a name for himself in 2021 with the release of the hit single ‘La League’. In May of the same year, he signed to producer Kore's AWA label.

In 2022, he released his first EP, ‘J'arrive’, which catapulted him to the forefront of the French rap scene. His music is characterised by introspective lyrics and catchy melodies, often tinged with humour. He is influenced by artists such as Booba, Ninho and Damso.

In 2023, Werenoi confirmed his talent with the release of his first studio album, ‘Mauvais garçon’. The album was a commercial and critical success, and won him the Male Revelation of the Year award at the Flammes 2023 awards.

Werenoi is regarded as one of the most promising rappers of his generation. His music, which is both dark and luminous, appeals to a wide audience and has won him increasing recognition.
